Eric Hecker, Founder of The Hobby Foundation, has been an advocate for youth sports and education for many years. It began when he was shown the value of what a great teacher has on students and when he began his time as a volunteer youth sports coach.
Providing opportunities for children to succeeded and excel in sports is magical, but seeing them having fun is impactful. He has seen the impact of what a properly run youth sports league has on the community at large.
A well rounded education does not just include knowing how to add, subtract, and read. It also includes being aware of real life scenarios, exploring your community, and experiencing education at your fingertips with positive intent from happy and excited teachers.
Eric has also been collector of sports cards and memorabilia since he was a kid, but more active since 2020. This is when he realized that there was a greater community of people that were looking for ways to make a greater impact through their passions and hobby. It started with a RAK (Random Act of Kindness) and has grown in to a movement.
Eric is married to his wife, Kristen, a third grade teacher and they have a son, Landon, an avid baseball player.
